Shalom

The first blog. I’ve been putting it off. What to say? As it is Easter season I have chosen shalom, that beautiful enormous word that I seek to partner with in my practice. In his book Not the Way It is Supposed To Be Cornelius Plantigna talks about shalom as;

"the webbing together of God, humans, and all creation in justice, fulfillment, and delight…Shalom means universal flourishing, wholeness and delight – a rich state of affairs in which natural needs are satisfied and natural gifts fruitfully employed. Shalom, in other words, is the way things ought to be…the full flourishing of human life in all aspects, as God intended it to be.”

My partnership with God’s shalom is connected to intercession and our calling to serve creation and each other. I am at the core simply agreeing with heaven’s very best for my clients. All the healing modalities I work with in my practice are grounded and infused with shalom. Meridian tapping (EFT), releasing toxic emotion work with essential oils (RTE), hands on energy work, and holistic nutrition work all swim in the great restorative waters of shalom.

To me Shalom feels like a verb or a state of being more than a simple noun. It is a force that exhales from the character and love of God. The peace of shalom brings order and blessing to chaos. Contained in shalom are harmony, wellness, restoration, renewal, homeostasis, interconnectedness, wholeness, completeness, and balance. The healing of body, soul, and spirit resides in shalom. Shalom is in God’s finding his creation good. It is in the promise and colors of the rainbow. It is the universe set back to right at the cross. It is in the way Jesus honored others, spoke to others, and healed others. It is in his cry at his death “It is finished”. It is the gift he left us in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” It is in the very air we breathe all around us working for our good. It is the context for the energy in all my energy work.

A whole army of body, soul, spirit healers is arising in the church. Many of us are of necessity learning from outside church walls. We are finding each other with tremendous joy and relief. We are marveling over quantum physics, the healing powers of sound, color, water, plants, intention, the human energy system, energy psychology, and grinning ear to ear to find it all in the layers of the bible.

From every corner of the globe all throughout history humans have discovered healing truths and developed ways to engage with them. In Jeremiah 15 we are encouraged to; “..extract the precious from the worthless..” The myriad of new healing modalities are an explosion of shalom gifted to a chaotic world. Sorting through the good and bad, the doctrinally sound from the abusive is an exciting challenge. If you have a Christian faith background and haven’t been sure how to pursue these modalities in conjunction with your faith, I hope I am a safe place. I welcome your genuine questions. To protect myself I must also say I do not welcome attacks or argument for argument sake. Life is simply too short for upstream paddling.

Put your hands to your heart and simply welcome the work of God's perfect shalom for your day.

It is my honor to be invited into your peace journey.

Shalom.

Pauline
